"u" is for unity - sings oritse femi on his new record

The letter “U” can stand for many things, but for Oritse Femi, it stands for “Unity” - at least that’s the message he’s pushing on his new single. The song was released this week and is the perfect ending to the month of August. He uses this track to send a more conscious message to the nation of Nigeria and addresses some of the societal issues that are plaguing the people. The 32-year-old singer is one of the most intriguing musicians in Nigeria. Most people first came across Femi when he covered Fela Kuti’s legendary track, “Double Wahala”. Since then, his career has been on an upwards tragectory and it’s been a privilege and a joy to get to watch him put it all together. Check out “U” below and let us know if you’re feeling “United” to the cause.
